On 5 April 2016 the JRC presented the interactive and collaborative online European Energy Efficiency Platform. This beta platform is conceived to fill the gap opened by scattered data and fragmented knowledge resulting from a rapidly growing energy efficiency market. It is expected to be both a one-stop shop for information retrieval and a meeting point for experts to exchange data and reduce redundant activities.

National Renewable Energy Action Plans (NREAPs): According to Article 4 of Directive 2009/28/EC each Member States have submitted a National Renewable Energy Action Plan (NREAP) to the European Commission. The NREAPs set out how each Member State aims to achieve its national target and in the three sectors (electricity, heating and cooling, transport - see Annex I of the RES Directive). As stipulated in the RES Directive, article 24, the European Commission has created an online Transparency Platform, which makes public information relevant to the implementation of the Directive (including the NREAPs). In order to carry out the requirements of the RES Directive, a number of documents have subsequently to be issued, either by the European Commission or by the Member States themselves. A Template for reporting containing 12 tables is established according to the European Commission Decision 2009/548/EC.
Progress Reports (PRs): According to Article 22 of the Directrive 2009/28/EC each Member State has to submit to the European Commission every two year a progress report on the developments in renewable energy sources in that country compared with the interim targets in its NREAP.
All the original NREAPs and progress reports can be found at the Transparency Platform of European Commission.
REMEA Action of IET, JRC has established a database on NREAPs and progress reports which is available for download. The data are available for download in 'comma-separated-values' format and includes NREAPs tables: Table 1, Table 2, Table 3, Table 10a, Table 10b, Table 11 and Table 12 of the template together with Annex I of the RES Directive.Tables 1, 1a, 1b, 1c, 1d, 4, 4a, 5, 6 and 7 of Member States progress reports are also available for download in "comma-separated-values" format.
To allow users to see the trends of the progress in renewable energy development in each Member State and in the EU28, REMEA action offers graphic viewing through an Interactive Pivot Chart. The excel file containing the complete set of data of NREAPs and up to now submitted progress reports is available for download at the NREAPs Interactive Map.
